À Demain Le Soleil! | Tête d’Allumette + Dieu du Ciel!
À Demain Le Soleil! is worth seeking out. It has character and depth paired with a sense of intrigue which makes it an easy choice on the store shelves. I’d happily drink this regularly throughout the year if it was available in a smaller format at a reasonable price.
Herbe à Détourne | Brasserie Dieu du Ciel!
Herbe à Détourne is an outstanding beer. It packs a wallop of flavour; there’s just so much going on and the balance is fantastic. Well worth seeking out if you like beers with Belgian yeast character.
Alfheim | Brasserie Artisanale Albion
Alfheim is an outstanding sour beer with a beautiful sense of restraint. I could finish a whole bottle on my own and not feel overwhelmed. Superb balance, good drinkability, and a touch of intrigue make this a beer worth seeking out. Highly recommended.
Chevalier Vert | Brasserie Artisanale Albion
Albion does it again. This beautiful brett pale ale really stands out.
It’s missing the intangibles of a world-class brew, but it’s well worth seeking out. The beer is delicate yet characterful and it boasts fantastic drinkability with superb balance.
Mineris Tenebris | Microbrasserie Emporium
This is an outstanding session beer. At 3.8% ABV it has layers and character that are not easy to come by in something this light. This beer boasts crushable drinkability while steering clear from any off-flavours.
Tamise | Nano Cinco – Brasserie Artisanale
Tamise is a big surprise to me; it’s much better than I expected. The beer is flavourful and balanced while maintaining good drinkability. The small serving size is a bit sad as I’d happily drink an imperial pint of this.
Double Descente | Boréale
Double Descente demonstrates excellent craftsmanship, great balance, and an overall superb drinking experience. I couldn’t ask for more. Highly recommended – maybe I’ll grab some more for the fridge before it’s gone.
Captain Swing | Microbrasserie Hopfenstark
Hopfenstark’s Captain Swing is a beer worth seeking out. It’s loaded with character, balance, and perspective. I’m only missing a certain wow-factor which would truly place it in the top 1%. If you find a can, don’t hesitate picking it up. Barleywine is life.
Gâteau Forêt-Noire | Unibroue
An outstanding if sweet beer. Ample alcohol and cherry tartness cut right through the sugar but some drinkers might find this to be too much. If your palate tends to align with mine, then you’re in for a high value treat.
