Classe Typhoon is an average beer with a robust and layered profile. It features a nice appearance and a smooth mouthfeel that suits the weight of the beer well. While the aroma is pungent and the flavor provides a strong intensity of dark malts and fruity esters, the elements do not quite harmonize as a unit. It remains a fair choice for those who enjoy stronger dark beers with notes of oxidation, though it lacks the fine-tuned balance of top-tier examples.

Arctic Ale 2025 | Brasserie Artisanale Albion
Albion’s Arctic Ale presents an enticing appearance but could benefit from better head formation. Its aroma is complex yet lacks harmony, a tension mirrored in the distinct but uncohesive flavour. While the pleasant mouthfeel and well-hidden alcohol are positives, it ultimately lacks finesse, leaving a sense of unresolved potential in this otherwise enjoyable sipper.
Blackburne Bourbon Barrel-Aged 2024 | Left Field Brewery
Bourbon Barrel-Aged Blackburne is an excellent beer. It features an impressive appearance and an intense aroma that immediately grabs your attention. The flavour delivers a bold punch, balancing dark malt richness with a sharp alcohol heat that cuts through the sweetness. While the warming sensation is strong, the overall experience is luscious and rewarding. This is a flavourful, well-crafted brew that is worth seeking out for its depth and character. I would happily drink this again.
Presqu’ile | Tête d’Allumette
A smoky campfire in a glass. Tête d’Allumette’s Presqu’île bends barleywine conventions with bold smoked malt and rustic charm. Its crisp mouthfeel contrasts the high ABV, making it intriguing but hard to pin down. A unique brew to explore, though its intensity suggests savoring over sipping.
L’Impériale Gasket de Tête | Tête d’Allumette
Tête d’Allumette’s L’Imperiale Gasket de Tête is a bold Russian Imperial Stout with deep malt character and complexity. While the mouthfeel could be fuller, the rich flavors make it a worthy choice for stout lovers. However, it may fall just short for those seeking a world-class brew.
Dragon Sap | Labrosse Brewery
Dragon Sap by Microbrasserie Labrosse offers a punchy aroma and solid hop presence, but falls short on balance. Pronounced bitterness and minerality overshadow the style’s expected softness, resulting in a sharper profile and modest drinkability. With some refinement, its strengths could shine more clearly.
Blanche de Chambly Pomme | Unibroue
This edition of Blanche de Chambly is an outstanding beer. Great base recipe elevated by application of special ingredient(s). This is a balanced and layered beer with a sense of intrigue. Highly enjoyable drinking experience.
Brew Juice 100% Framboise | BreWskey
This edition of Brew Juice is a great beer. Thick and juice-like, the brew is packed with intense flavour. There’s not much complexity but the clarity of flavour is fantastic. If you happen to see it, give it a try!
Boombox | 5e Baron
A bold and flavorful hazy DIPA with fragrant hops and crisp mouthfeel. While packed with character, it’s held back by salty notes, visible sediment, and hints of yeast stress. Good, but with this much competition, it doesn’t stand out.
Péché Mortel Bourbon 2021 | Brasserie Dieu du Ciel!
World-class. It’s astonishing how well this beer has held over the last few years. I’ve had very few stouts developing so beautifully over time. Glorious flavour and overall character with fabulous mouthfeel make this a wonderful treat.
